Antique Woods is a design, consulting and management firm and lumber supplier, based in Pennsylvania and New York. They specialize in designing and managing architectural restoration and renovation of colonial and pre-colonial structures. For 30+ years they have been dedicated to preserving the history, craftsmanship, and charm of Early American homes and barns throughout the Northeast U.S. They are a valuable source for antique timberframe barns, early houses and other antique building materials reclaimed from old structures. Swamp cypress is secured from mushroom houses and is not as old as some of their other woods, but this wood came from a time when cypress was still plentiful and features a tighter grain. The nutrients and soils of the mushroom houses add interesting, deep color striations to the wood.
